Is Adam GLAAD for the Publicity?

November 25, 2009

The 2009 American Music Awards (AMA) aired on Sunday, November 22 to honor some of music’s greats.  As is the tradition, awards were interspersed with performances by popular acts.  In his first AMA appearance, Adam Lambert, sparked immediate controversy with a performance containing simulated male-on-male sex and a long kiss with a bandmate.  Lambert, the most recent runner-up on the TV show American Idol and first openly gay contestant, was scheduled to perform on ABC’s Good Morning America on Wednesday, November 25th.  However, the appearance was canceled because executives were concerned about “airing a similar concert so early in the morning.”  The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), has released a statement about this.  click here for limerick

Pot Gets the Weasels

February 28, 2009

Seventy-year-old Ellen Basinski was in her Ohio home when three teens forced their way in looking for money. She was on the phone with her husband, a judge, and he immediately called 911. Mrs. Basinski grabbed her favorite Emeril saucepan and hit one thief on the head as he was going through her purse. The police arrived, the three teens were arrested and Mrs. Basinski’s saucepan was taken as evidence. During Mrs. Basinski’s interview with Good Morning America, celebrity-chef Emeril Lagasse, famous for shouting BAM! whenever he adds spice to a recipe, said he would give her a new cookware set. (P.S. If you have a couple of minutes, the interview with Mrs. Basinski is hysterical!) click here for limerick
