Hello Daily Limerick Readers!  As we wrap up this final week of 2009, we thought this would be a good time to look back on the year and some of the stories that were highly buzzed about.  We hope you enjoy this daily retrospective and we look forward to bringing you more News to Amuse in 2010!

AIG:  American International Greed
March 17, 2009



Over the weekend, details surfaced that insurance giant AIG (American International Group), which accepted $170 billion in bailout funds, will give $165 million in bonuses to the very executives that almost bankrupted the company.  President Obama cited AIG’s “recklessness and greed” and vowed that his administration will do what it can to stop payment of these bonuses.  AIG has stated that it is contractually obligated to pay these bonuses.


Americans have turned their rage to AIG
For showing their lack of responsibility
Much to Obama’s dismay
Bailout funds are bonus pay
This is corporate abuse at the highest degree
