Paul, It’s Time to Live and Let Die

December 11, 2009

In a recent interview with Q Magazine, Paul McCartney remarked his marriage to Heather Mills was “a prime contender” for being one of his worst mistakes in the last decade.  The former Beatle met Mills at the Pride of Britain Awards ceremony in 1999 where they each were a presenter.  The two married on June 11, 2002 and their daughter, Beatrice, was born in 2003.  During their marriage, Mills was unhappy with the remote location of McCartney’s residence and referred to him as “a boring old fart.”  During the divorce proceeding, Mills’ testimony of a difficult life with McCartney was contradicted by her own accounts of a happy marriage from her book Life Balance: The Essential Keys to a Lifetime of Wellbeing.  When the divorce was finalized in 2008, the Justice presiding over the case described Mills as an “unimpressive witness” and that her evidence was “not just inconsistent and inaccurate but also less than candid.”  Mills, who uses a prosthetic leg after losing hers in a 1993 accident, appeared on Dancing with the Stars in 2007.  She remains active in several charities including the Heather Mills Health Trust and the Vegetarian and Vegan Foundation.  click here for limerick
