Have A Blast This Holiday
November 28, 2009
The Friday after Thanksgiving is known as Black Friday when retailers make big sales and turn big profits. However, in South Carolina they are dubbing it, “Second Amendment Weekend” and (for two days) waive the tax on the sale of guns. State Representative Mike Pitts is credited with the idea and says it is not so much a stimulus as a political statement. Tax on handguns, rifles, and shotguns can exceed 9% in the state but buyers will still pay tax on ammunition and accessories. Some stores are expecting such big turnout that they are providing free barbeque to those waiting on line.

Buy your guns tax-free the advertisement invites
It’s a political statement
Not a tax abatement
And thankfully there were no Black Friday Fights!
