Is Adam GLAAD for the Publicity?
November 25, 2009
The 2009 American Music Awards (AMA) aired on Sunday, November 22 to honor some of music’s greats. As is the tradition, awards were interspersed with performances by popular acts. In his first AMA appearance, Adam Lambert, sparked immediate controversy with a performance containing simulated male-on-male sex and a long kiss with a bandmate. Lambert, the most recent runner-up on the TV show American Idol and first openly gay contestant, was scheduled to perform on ABC’s Good Morning America on Wednesday, November 25th. However, the appearance was canceled because executives were concerned about “airing a similar concert so early in the morning.” The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), has released a statement about this.
Good Morning America told Lambert he can’t perform
His AMA appearance was beyond the daytime norm
Some say “it’s artistic, leave him be”
But conservatives certainly disagree
With GLAAD now involved, are we tracking a real sh*t storm?
