Not Necessarily the News
October 12, 2009
The Obama administration is fueling a feud against the Fox News Network. In an interview released with Time last Thursday, White House Communications Director Anita Dunn stated Fox is “opinion journalism masquerading as news.” On Sunday, October 11, Dunn appeared on CNN’s Reliable Sources commenting that Fox is “widely viewed as a part of the Republican Party . . .” and when Obama appears on Fox, it is not a news appearance, but rather an opportunity to debate opponents. During this segment, Dunn panders to CNN by stating about Fox, “But let’s not pretend that they’re a news network the way CNN is.”
About Fox News, White House staffers were quite direct
The Republican leanings are something they object
Fox isn’t a network of news
CNN in the one they choose
CNN…this self-promotion is easy to detect!
