A Marvel-ous Deal for Mickey

On Monday, The Walt Disney Company announced its $4 billion acquisition of Marvel Entertainment, owner of many superhero and villain licenses including Spiderman, X-Men, Iron Man and many, many more. Disney CEO, Robert Iger, called the acquisition “a treasure trove of content” and provides an opportunity for the company to expand its reach into male audiences. Disney has long been recognized for its generation-spanning movies and Academy Award-winning songs including “A Whole New World” from Aladdin. Pixar Animation Studio, specializing in CGI animation and one of the most acclaimed movie studios, was acquired by Disney in 2006. Economic forecasters see the Disney/Marvel merger as the start of a trend and a promising signal that companies feel “the worst could be over.” click here for limerick
