Room with a View
August 30, 2009
In June 2009, New York City opened the High Line Park, at the location of a former elevated freight railroad at the lower west side of Manhattan. Straddling this elevated park is the Standard Hotel that was named “best new building” by the Municipal Art Society of New York last year. Since the park’s opening, there have been a number of complaints about the hotel’s guests. The Standard’s room feature floor-to-ceiling windows and several guests walk around naked in their rooms—in total view of the park patrons. Last week, the Standard Hotel issued a statement they will “remind guests of the transparency” of the windows. click here for limerick
