A Purrrrfect Conviction
August 19, 2009
Forensic evidence played a critical role in the conviction of Henry Lee Polk of Kansas City, MO. He was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Stephen M. Nolte and the evidence was provided…by two of Polk’s cats. Witnesses stated that they saw Polk burning the clothes he wore on the night of the crime and driving the victim’s truck. But the most damning evidence was cat hair found in the pockets of the victim. Investigators took samples of cat hair from Polk’s felines and found a genetic match.
