According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, the number of bears in the state has increased sixfold over the last 20 years. A few decades back, the bear population was measured at 5,000. Today there are approximately 30,000 bears in the state, with most in northern Wisconsin and a few migrating to the central forest area and western regions. Bear breeding season is in June and July, the best time of year to catch a glimpse of these animals-hopefully at a distance! click here for limerick
