She Needs Some Chicken Noodle Stoup
July 15, 2009
Talk-show host and cooking icon Rachael Ray had successful throat surgery earlier this week to remove a benign cyst from her vocal cords. It has been reported that Ray pursued non-surgical options before following the advice from her doctors and scheduled the surgery. Ray came to prominence with her 30 Minute Meals show on Food Network and brought several catch-phrases to the cooking lexicon. Examples include Yum-o; e.v.o.o. (extra virgin olive oil); stoup (a cross between a soup and a stew) and delish (for delicious). The always chatty Ray is under strict orders to rest her vocal cords and her media rep told People Magazine, “The hardest part for Rachael is going to be giving her voice a rest for the next week or so.”
Rachael Ray introduced the 30 Minute Meal
And built an empire based on her mass appeal
To surgery she acquiesced
She’s now home on vocal rest
A quiet Rachael? That concept is too surreal!
