Most Wanted

June 26, 2009

For a woman in Florida who has not dated in 20 years, what sounded like a smart idea cost her and her colleague their jobs.  Carol Bass, a records clerk with the Fort Meyers Police Department joined a telephone dating service and was naturally curious about the men she was speaking to.   Therefore, she and her friend Helen Lehman used their access to driver and vehicle information to “pre-screen” the men.  Their access allowed them to see photographs and personal information.  When a supervisor was alerted to this breech, both women were fired.
