New Hidden Fees
May 31, 2009
Southwest Airlines is well known for their advertisements lambasting airlines that charge “Hidden Fees” while boasting that they do not. However, after losing money for the past three quarters, they are now seeking additional sources of income. It was announced on Friday, that they would increase the charge for a third bag and for $75 (each way) you can bring along a pet. Chief Executive Gary Kelly was quoted as stating that these fees are “just the starting point”. In addition to “No Hidden Fees” Southwest has a knack in developing catchy advertising slogans including “Wanna Get Away” and “You Are Now Free to Move About the Country”. Passengers enjoy the “quirky” flight attendants who are given leeway in how they present the pre-flight instructions.

The airline has degrees
In defining “hidden fees”
Hey Southwest, you might “Wanna’ get away”
