Scumdog Millionaires
May 23, 2009
Just like in the board game Monopoly, sometimes life deals you a card that states, “Bank error in your favor“. That is certainly what happened to a New Zealand couple when their appeal for a line of overdraft protection was approved at 100 times the requested amount. The couple, rumored to be Kara Yang and Leo Gao, was provided with 10 million New Zealand dollars. They immediately closed their gas station and fled the country. It is suspected they are in Hong Kong or China and at the time of this writing, Interpol is still searching for them.
A New Zealand couple caught a bank unawares
When an error made them accidental millionaires
Within a day the couple ran
After their personal bailout plan
Shame on them for taking money that wasn’t theirs
