Barack’s First 100 Days
April 29, 2009
Of all the events that transpired in President Barack Obama’s first 100 days, the most notable may be the popularity of the First Family. As of April 24, 2009, USA Today reported that, “56% say he has done an excellent or good job” and “his excellent/good rating on national security is 53% and 48% on the economy.” It should be noted that there are definite divisions among political parties. 9 of 10 Democrats rate him as excellent/good while only 1 in 4 Republicans say the same. His and Michelle’s first visit to Europe had scores of people waiting to see him and one European commented “he’s bigger than Brad Pitt.” But if Barack’s approval numbers are good, Michelle’s are even better, and her appeal crosses party lines – 79% of people approve of the job she is doing vs. 8% who do not. The biggest buzz of the Obama family belongs to its newest member, Bo, the Portuguese Water Dog that joined the family earlier this month. Bo has become so popular that he has his own Topps Trading Card in the Obama set and stars in his own action book titled, Bo, America’s Commander in Leash.
In one hundred days the Obamas have put on quite a show
Inauguration Day ratings went as high as they can go
Their popularity transcends
To many European friends
Except their charisma is eclipsed by a puppy named Bo

100 days isn’t really much.
But Obama has shown his touch.
Tried to grab a whole lot,
but so far, all he got
was debris from his “touching” and such…
