Rotten Apple
April 26, 2009
The highly popular iPhone by Apple allows users to download over 25,000 applications (referred to as apps) to do everything from process credit cards to playing silly games. However, Apple made a big mistake when they allowed an app called “baby shaker” to go on sale in their App Store. For 99 cents, users could get a drawing of a baby that whines and cries. Quieting the baby required shaking the phone violently until a large red X appeared over each eye. Outrage was immediate from the general public and from the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome. Apple quickly pulled the app, but video of how to “play” can be found on the Internet.
No one denies that Apple has vision
But a recent app caused some derision
A baby whines and cries
‘Til X’s cover its eyes
Only outrage told them it was a dumb decision
