Public Enemy’s Number Won
March 26, 2009
Headlines were made when Ponzi-scheme-financier Bernard Madoff’s bail was revoked and he was sent to jail. The following day, Madoff’s mug shot appeared in the newspaper that accompanied his prison number: 61727-054. Ralph Amendolaro, a Queens construction worker, noticed the prison number and played the last three numbers in the New York State Lottery Numbers game, and won $1,500. This is a 16,000% return on his $9 investment. . . much better than anything Madoff promised in his own numbers game.
Madoff’s pyramid has caused many people pain
Now he’s in jail where his final days shall wane
A New York guy had fun
Bernie’s prison number won
In all this mess at least someone made a gain!
