After each American Idol performance, viewers are given special phone numbers to vote for their favorite contestants.  Typically this phone number is 1-866-IDOLS-## with ## being the number of the performer (01 for the first, 02 for the second, etc.).  Because American Idol has thirteen contestants this season, they were faced with a serious problem.  Calling 1-866-IDOLS-13 takes you to a phone sex line.  To overcome this, during last night’s telecast viewers were given 1-866-IDOLS-36 to vote for the 13th performer, Alexis Grace.
