At President Obama’s joint address to Congress on Tuesday, February 24, Michelle Obama wore a sleeveless Narciso Rodriguez purple dress. Her fashion choice sparked some debate with one Chicago Tribune reader emailing the following comment to the newspaper, “Does the lady not understand that these Big Speech Events are serious and important? Not a cocktail party?” The Huffington Post contains a slideshow of Mrs. Obama’s sleeveless fashion choices this past week.
Author’s Note: For best reading, pronounce “versatile” with a long “i” as if to rhyme it with smile.
Michelle Obama has dazzled us with her charms
But people have raised considerable alarms
She proved sleeveless is versatile
Yet some critique her choice of style
