The Sexiest Oscar Host Alive

Hugh Jackman, People Magazine’s 2008 Sexiest Man Alive, hosted this year’s Oscar telecast for the first time.  Traditionally helmed by comedians, Jackman, as a song-and-dance man, represented a new direction for this year’s award ceremony.  The producers promised a leaner show, though it still clocked in 25 minutes beyond the scheduled ending.  The biggest winner of the night was Slumdog Millionaire with 8 victories in 10 nominations.  Click here for a complete list of Oscar winners. 

Jackman opened the Oscars with a clever song and dance
And sang with Beyoncé about the musical’s romance
Not bad for this beginner
Who’s also a Tony winner
Though at the end we were bored into a hypnotic trance
