Disneyland Makes Big Changes to Small World
February 7, 2009
Yesterday, Disneyland in Anaheim, California reopened “it’s a small world” after being closed for refurbishment. Fans of the ride criticized the changes as popular Disney characters including Jasmine and Aladdin, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Alice in Wonderland, and Cinderella have been integrated into the ride that was originally created for the 1964/1965 New York World’s Fair to promote cultural understanding and harmony. In an Associated Press article, Leo Braudy with the University of Southern California (USC), referred to the ride as “something that was meant to be a sort of United Nations for children.”
It’s a “U.N. for children” if you recall
Not famous characters in a world that’s small
Jasmine and her fella
Alice and Cinderella
For Disneyland it’s a cash world after all
