Blago, You’re Outta Here
January 30, 2009
The impeachment trial of Rod Blagojevich came to a close with a unanimous decision to oust the Illinois Governor. This is the first time an Illinois governor has been impeached in the state’s 190-year history. The last governor removed from office was Arizona’s Evan Mecham in 1988. Blagojevich (who has a propensity for using profanity) still faces federal corruption charges. Illinois Lt. Governor Pat Quinn will take over as state governor.
In Illinois a decision was reached
Blagojevich was f—ing impeached
He said things aren’t what they seem
As the end justifies the means
Even though the public trust had been breached
