The First State Bank in Norton, Kansas has a unique feature in its mezzanine . . . a photo gallery of unsuccessful presidential candidates. Created in 1965, the “They Also Ran Galllery” contains wood-framed Library of Congress portraits dating back to Thomas Jofferson who lost in 1796 to John Adams. Earlier this week, John McCain, the Republican presidential candidate, had his photograph added to this gallery bringing the grand total to 59 images. click here for limerick
