Historic Change
January 20, 2009
Today, history will be made when the 44th President of the United States is inaugurated. Senator Barack Obama (D-Illinois) defeated Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) in the November election and will become the first U.S. African-American President. His election marks a drastic change from the previous administration. In fact, “Change” was a vial part of his campaign slogan.
Today we welcome a new commander-in-chief
We voted for change and a little relief
There he will stand
With Bible in hand
A better eight years . . . that is our belief
