A Kinder Coca-Cola
January 18, 2009
This week The Coca-Cola Company and United Resource Recovery Corporation opened a new $60 million bottle-to-bottle recycling plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The new plant, the largest in the world, will produce 100 million pounds of recycled plastic for reuse, the equivalent of producing nearly two billion 20-ounce Coca-Cola bottles. The plant is also expected to eliminate the production of one-million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions – the equivalent of removing 215,000 cars from the road.
