Illinois’ Impeachment

An Illinois House of Representatives Committee voted to impeach embattled Governor Rod Blagojevich for his alleged attempt to sell President-elect Obama’s now vacant Senate seat. The next step is a Senate trial impeachment trial where a 2/3 vote is needed to oust the governor.
Illinois’ public trust was recently breached
A nearly unanimous decision was reached
Innocence was a disguise
And it came as no surprise
That Blago would ultimately be impeached
