Mad at Madoff
January 8, 2009
On January 6, 2009 the Wall Street Journal reported that prosecutors want Bernard Madoff ’s bail revoked and him jailed after alleging that he and his wife sent $1 million worth of jewelry, watches, and other items to relatives. This would be a violation of the injunction the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) obtained freezing his assets. The discovery of this transfer of assets came when Madoff’s sons, Mark and Andrew reported to their lawyers that they had recieved three packages from their parents in the final two days of 2008.
