Ode to a Christmas tree
December 28, 2008
As we were driving about these past couple of days, we noticed a number of Christmas trees sitting out on the curb with the trash, or strapped to cars and taken to a tree recycling center. We wrote this limerick as a final tribute to the trees that brought so much beauty and joy this holiday season . . . and then were promptly discarded as soon as Christmas Day was over.
Christmas trees once adorned all pretty and bright
Now from our homes, do take their flight
The presents uncovered
New joys were discovered
Thus ends a season in which many delight
